Mental Health Training for Increases in Suicide and Drug Overdose

A recent article published in STAT on February 6, 2017, "A dangerous wait: Colleges can’t meet soaring student needs for mental health care" illustrates that colleges across the country are unable to meet the demand for mental health care which is leaving students on wait lists for weeks.  Students on many campuses are so frustrated that they are demanding expanded services by reaching out to 20 top universities, including Harvard, Princeton, Yale, MIT, and Columbia where seven students have died from suicide and suspected drug overdose this school year alone.

Hermance Associates can provide your public or private college, university or post-secondary school with the necessary training to help identify students with mental health illness that may be at risk of hurting themselves, another student or another campus community member.  Training sessions are geared toward university officials, public safety officers, resident leaders, faculty members and support staff members.  Our consulting services and training programs are offered to individuals or groups in one-hour, two-hour or three-hour sessions.
